Pyrexia

on chronic illness, its side & silent effects

Story by Sadrina Shukor May 28th, 2015

Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease

is the chronic illness that I was diagnosed with in 2008. It took several painful months before doctors arrived at an accurate diagnosis. Along the way, I went through a trial-and-error period of literally hundreds of prescriptions and a number of medical procedures, from steroids, anti-anxiety medications to bone marrow biopsy.

Chronic illness is an invisible target, thus this work is part of a constant sequence of inquiry into battles that are hiding in plain view. These are the portraits of my pain.
